

There’s understandably a lot of fervent excitement for the return of Silent Hill. It’s obviously unclear whether these are brand new games or something else entirely. Some fans went even deeper and looked at the video’s metadata, finding potential references to a Steam release for Silent Hill 2 and the names of at least two other Silent Hill projects: Silent Hill Ascension and Return To Silent Hill. The description’s already been updated to remove any mention of the game, but not before someone managed to screengrab it. This in turn added to the claims that said remake will be a timed PlayStation exclusive.

In a nondescript building in San Franciscos Potrero Hill, choose a movie you want. In addition to the streaming reveal, the description for the Silent Hill Transmission on YouTube originally mentioned Silent Hill 2 explicitly, with a space left blank for an eventual link to the PlayStation Store. You can also search for silent films which are very useful for film. Splitting the game up into different parts doesn’t make any obvious sense though as, unlike Final Fantasy 7, the original wasn’t particularly long (about eight hours) and the game world wasn’t especially large. Perhaps in a similar vein to Square Enix’s own Final Fantasy 7 remake project.


While this can’t be considered as confirmation that the remake is episodic, this not only seems to corroborate previous rumours of a Silent Hill 2 remake but suggests that it’s a multi-part project.
